we had our 12 week check up today! we went in expecting to hear the babies heartbeat but Doc wasn't able to pick it up on the dopplar. UGH! not a good feeling so he wheeled in the mobile ultrasound to take a look. THERE YOU ARE! hi baby! baby sweet P was in there a lot bigger than last time, just in a bad position to pick up the heartbeat on the dopplar thingy.
we have now been upgraded to large lime status. it still amazes me that i have a lime sized human in my belly i can't feel a thing. so bizzare. today was pretty special. it was matt's first look at the baby since we went in at 4 weeks. he was out of town during my week of worrisome spotting so i think it was pretty awesome he got to see the little babe wiggling around. sweet P must have had the hiccups because there was a lot of wiggling going on. matt is SO convinced we're having a boy, i asked him what he thought about seeing our little one today and he said he "was pretty sure he saw him lifting weights." good grief! i have no idea what we'll do if we have a girl. but you will all have to wait till march to find out. we want the baby to be the one to tell us what we're having.
so we're in good shape. health-wise not so much fitness-wise (working out is still on the list of things to do) Doc has me scheduled for a more formal ultrasound at an imaging center. he'd like to see if they can find why i was spotting, it might have been a little problem with the placenta but not much to worry about. it will give me a lot of piece of mind when we figure it out.
