i had to go in for an "emergency" ultrasound last weekend. there was some worrisome spotting going on and the Doc wanted to check on everything. so we got a new photo of Sweet P. it's a little darker than the last one but you can see the babies head and part of the body. Doc said everything looked fine but gave me a progesterone injection for good measure. i'd like to refer to that shot as progesterone poisoning. it sucks the life out of you and makes you want to barf, kind of like a long day at Six Flags. it was so amazing to see Sweet P, so much bigger. while you're laying there on the table with blue goo on your belly watching the doctor look for signs of life in your womb and all of sudden you see something wiggle around! HOLY COW! babies doing gymnastics and I can't even feel it. WOW! then we saw a little flicker flicker flicker. really fast little flicker. big sigh of relief. God is good.
I have no idea how women did this without modern technology. when you're worried about the baby the only thing that makes you feel better is seeing it do gymnastics in the womb. i asked Doc if i could "long-term" borrow the ultrasound machine. he said no. Dang!
so anyway. we're doing ok. keep praying for us and enjoy the latest photo (if you can even tell what things are). Oh, one more cool fact, Sweet P is as big as a strawberry.
xoxo
