one year ago today i was driving home from a lovely pedicure with georganne and christy. we were listening (and rocking out to) lady gaga, pokerface. i had no idea what was about to happen. i had no idea that what matt and i joked about would actually happen and i would have to call him home from the state tournament. i love our birth story. i love the way tessa decided to join us. i could tell the story to anyone who will listen.
this year has been honestly the fastest year i have ever had in my entire life. i don't know if it's because she has grown so fast in this first year or because when you're being baptized by fire into parenthood there's no time to sit and smell the roses or relish in your accomplishments. but i'd say we've done a pretty good job. she's happy, she's chubby, she seems to pretty darn smart except for the whole not speaking in english thing. : )
today was so gorgeous. it was exactly what i needed to get out of the nasty funk i've been in. we were super productive and thanks to little bitty and her long nap taking skills i got more done around the house today than i have in months. thank you Lord. for giving us what we need when we need it.
tomorrow is her birthday. it will be the one year anniversary of matt and i being parents and it will be the one year anniversary for tessa being the cutest little bitty on the block.
i love where we are in our life together. sometimes, it just takes a sunny day and some chores getting done to make me realize how great it has been.
